The Connection Between Empathy and Evil Genes
It does seem likely that that's the connection is that the genes somehow do have an ability to influence whether you gain empathy or not. I don't think I even know enough about that concept of empathy that I could come up with a testable theory about it. That's why I'm going to instead just say, yes, there's a problem here. And I don't know how to resolve the problem. This is one that does show up elsewhere in the literature that the reason why psychopaths and narcissists and people with lack of empathy exist in the population is because that's actually a good replication strategy.
