The Rhetoric of the Indictment
I don't think that you can go lofty at all. You know, sometimes you'll hear prosecutors make moving speeches to jurors about what they can do by voting for guilt and that they can affect the people's justice. At bottom as a prosecutor, I'm a technician and I'm asking the jury to find a defendant guilty of specific charges. This is a case that's fundamentally about people who tried to shut down democracy. So we have a lot more to say about the indictment as we digest it and we'll do that next week.
