The Caducus, a Golden Shepherd's Staff
Apollo gave hermes a golden shepherds staff called a caducus. It was his new favorite possession. He loved it so much that he decided he needed to get a gift for hermes in return. The caducius was a beautiful winged staff covered with two intertwining, stunning serpents. Hermes looked at it slowly and tried to summon up some excitement about this strange gift. "It's not just a stick, apollo said, it's what it symbolizes"
