There's a company, i think it's delmonte, that does the pineapples. And so they grow in costa rica, normal golden pineapples,. But they also produce a pink pineapple that's taken them about 12 years to produce. This is a situation where the enzyme that turns, so all pineapples start out pink on the interior, what they've done is they've muted the enzyme that turned it orange after it sweetens up. It's the only modification they've made, but it's a true genetic modification and they have now patented that variety.
