Is There a Connection Between Specialists and Development?

I think our intuition sends us in the wrong direction always wanting a head start. Our brain interprets two people that are say they're separated by you know X amount I think our brain interprets that as one point in a trajectory that will be stable forever whether we know better or not. Sometimes the things you can do to get a head start will actually undermine your long-term development so our intuition I think leads us astray secondly I think a lot of the advice to to specialize has been incredibly important historically and for much of the 20th century it did make sense.
