The government has in its pat asha the awarding of post retirement sirecures to judges. The last three chief justices have been extremely timid, and i would say, by an las poo government. And above all, they delay important cases, so it be years and years before cases are heard. There's also a new legislation, professionally, an anti terrorist legislation,. where bail is never granted, and people can be picked up and inculcerated for years on end on extremely flimsy evidence.

Ramachandra Guha is an Indian historian, writer, and one of the foremost authorities on modern India. The author of India After Gandhi and Gandhi Before India, he is also a leading critic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Guha is a member of the Persuasion Board of Advisors.
