The US and Europe are key players in this shift in global supply chains. But there are other significant net beneficiaries of the China plus one strategy, says CIMB chief executive Ravi Agrawal. One is Mexico because nearshoring of traditional manufacturing for US corporates is really helping to drive increased manufacturing capacity in Mexico. On a longer term basis, actually, the biggest beneficiary that we see is India; it has done substantial structural reform over last 10 years.
