Kitty's parents worked hard. Her mum was a cleaner at the government war office. We didn't have a lot of money, but we had a lot of love. When did you start hearing about this idea of a war? There used to be sitting there glued to the wireess every night,. What's happenig, what's happening? And finally i heard these words war. I saw my mother and her father looking at each other in horror - they were scared. It was also kitty's ninth birthday. This was the first of september 19 39, the start of world war two.
