The Importance of Relationships in Loss

I was a young woman who came out as gay in the early, yeah, it would have been early eighties. And I walked away from friendships. There was nothing wrong with those friendships. But there was something about a language that I didn't have at that moment to maybe describe who I was or what I was going through. The main relationships in the book are described and depicted so powerfully. They're very moving. But I also found them many smaller ones, more that acts of kindness, that are depicted very emotionally affecting.
