E m d r stands for e movement, disensitization and re process. The therapist makes you have a happy place in your brain that you kind of pre assign and retreat to when it gets to be too much. E m dar's goal is to file away in an orderly fashion, so it's there to axes when you want to excess it - but not inappropriately.
