i bought into this idea of the connection between the freemasons and the templars. Everything seemed to make sense until i read robert lomas's more recent book, templar, genesis of freemasonry. And he meticulously picks ard his prior assertions. He basically says, first of all, all the claims are all based on unsupportable statements. But he does say that one of our authors, very lackman, who i think is maybe the most objective of all the writers about esoteric movements,. He explains how freemasonry probably did emerge from the stone mason's guild.
