The Role of Pick Lines in Catheter Days
Pick lines were associated with fewer DVTs than midlines. But that was I think fully explained by the fact that pick lines stayed in so much longer. The authors didn't report the number of DVTs per patient or per catheter. That would have been a useful way to disentangle that. And then the only other thing I had seen when I looked at this paper too is it may not be necessarily relevant. There was a big racial difference between who got pick lines and who got midlines.
