War and Peace by Tolstoy
In the 1850s, Tolstoy published what we might call immature works. He got married in the early 1860s and had 13 children with his wife. His marriage was tumultuous, successful, not so successful at times. The 1870s is the decade of Anikaraimina, a very, very great novel. And he basically dedicated the rest of his life to producing works that laid out his own version of Christianity.
