Why Is India Building a Large Dam on the Brahmaputra?
More than 80% of the waters of the Brahmaputra, they originate in the forests of a runachal Pradesh. So if the Chinese cut off the Yarlong-tsangpa world, it's not going to cause any major problems for India or for Bangladesh. The thing is that they are damning up the river upstream. If India builds a large enough dam south of the Chinese dam, then if the Chinese release water without informing us, then we can catch it and we can mitigate the potential catastrophic impact of this thing.
