I think it's fantastic that you come from a diverse background because it gives you the perspective that a lot of people will not have. For example, one of my good friends is Natalie Davis and her past, she worked in retail. She had insight that none of the other engineers had because none of them had been on the floor working with customers. So when you come to the industry with your previous career, that is a badge of honor.
