The Importance of Inner Democracy

Jung: We all have an inner homicidal maniac. And I often use the image of giving all those parts of ourselves a seat at the table. If we don't practice inner democracy, what happens is we repress those parts and they don't go away. So if you can practice inner freedom of speech, that will make it easier for you to practice outer freedom of speech as well. The economy of our thoughts, Jung often compared them to birds that would kind of migrate in for a moment, chirp an idea and then fly off.
