The Risks of Blood Stem Cell Transplants
A team in Taiwan has found a way to extend life by making immune cells better at fighting cancer. The idea is that if you added this mutation to those blood stem cells that were given to people with leukemia, it could help reduce the chances of cancer recurring. If they do try this in people who are having a cancer treatment and they end up living longer, is it something that we could use to extend the lives of healthy people? Yeah, I think it's very likely to become feasible.
