Are the Subsidies a Good Thing?
There are critics who have said that this convention doesn't give hard numerical targets like for example with the carbon emissions and offsets. Here how do we ensure that big multinationals who are into mining in Africa or whatever, like they won't carry on with business as usual for instance. You know you don't have hard numerical targets. It would help, it would definitely help to pinpoint and bind but I'm not sure how much it will be possible given the nature of the agreements which actually are talking about national priorities also being important.
