The Importance of Peter in Early Church History
Peter is almost always, if not always, put up first when the apostles are sort of listed due to us usually being the last. It was after the resurrection that Christ had that encounter with Peter and told him specifically to feed the sheep. He said it would be his faith that strengthened the brethren. Is there any good evidence from the church fathers that is to say both Peter was the head, but they were also successors to Peter?
