The republican party is a welcome vehicle for externalizing and re catecting those animosities, resentments, fears, anxieties on to gay people. And there'are also some problems in the church, i that too. Exactly. So thes these contradictions are not so much hypocrisies or contradictions. They are symptomatic. They are ways for america to not deal with much more intimate and much more difficult forms of a drama.
