Prestige Is a Form of Status
For millions of years, been playing dominance games. But when we began to live communally am er, and we went through that process of, they call it self domestication, a retreating from those kind of dominance behaviors. And if your living in that communal way, a competing for states with violence is just really bad. If you are valuable to the group, you go up. You earn prestige. And if you're not, you your your reputation goes down. So that's prestige.
