The Federal Trade Commission chair is proposing a new ban on non-compete clauses for employees and employers. John Litteri: Non-competes or covenants not to compete are clauses that stipulate restrictions on an employee's future employment opportunities once they leave the employer in question. He says there's a core of legitimacy to it, but I don't think most often you hear it used as such.
