The festival of aphroditis allowed women to masquerade as men, and men to put on women's garb. The text doesn't say that people previously assigned to male gender were now living as women - just that they switched clothes for this one night. But i think it does show that there's a strong challenge to the gender binery in the worship of Aphroditos. Some historians have described aphroditos as non binery, or intersex, instead of transgender.
