Ptolemy Wasn't the Originator of Astrology
Ptolemy wasn't the originator of astrology and he was coming in like two or three centuries after the development of Hellenistic astrology. He just adapted it and tried to explain it in a way that made sense within the prevailing scientific paradigm of his day. But when there were errors were creeping up by people who were doing much more exacting observations like Tiko Brahe, then that was just another nail in the coffin of the telematic model of astrology.
