The Seasonal Aspect of the Sage
The idea is that, you know, like there's a sense in which there's a rhythm and a seasonality to how it's summertime. And Independence Day and Thanksgiving and Halloween and those kinds of things. Oh, here we just have the flood season and then everything is on fire season. So that's how we organize. You truly are straw dogs. You get washed away or burned up. The kind of one translation has ruthless, which I think goes too far because I think indifference is much closer. But from the view of the common people, heaven can be ruthless, can be like, and so can the sage.
