The Importance of Getting Out of the Skirmish
The yogi says very simply your first job is to work on yourself. And the greatest thing you do for another human being first is to get your own house in order. If somebody comes to me and they are agitated and caught in their drama, until I can stand back and see how it is, what have I got to offer them? It's just like when a child comes to you and is hurt or a child feelings are hurt. But if you are one of the other children, all embroiled in the skirmish yourself, what have you got to offer?
