The Centering of the Self in Art and Identity

I don't know how much has come out of your own attendance at Iowa which you don't live there now but you tweeted from the Midwest of America for a long time and wrote from there as well. How close was it to your own experience of faculty life? In some ways similar but in many ways different I mean my teachers were you know my teachers were they weren't quite as checked out as the character in the novel feel that his teacher is checked out.
