The Myanmar Military's War in the Air
The street protests have turned into an armed uprising. A loose network of civilian militia groups called the People's Defense Forces or PDF are now fighting to remove the military from power. The Myanmar military is increasingly relying on its air power because the resistance forces on the ground have been effective. Russia has made very clear that despite the coup of 2021, the will continue to provide the Myanmar military with air force assets.
