Gaps allow us to document very clearly why a decision was made and what exactly that decision looked like. With gateway p i, we have this extra layer of review for all our changes. So i think gateway ap i is just as official as ingress, but also likely more reviewed and hopefully slightly better thought out than the ingressapiatic came before it.
