Battles and Viking Invasions

This chapter discusses two separate battles and the Viking invasions in southern Britain. It explores the challenges faced by the Anglo-Saxons in dealing with Viking strongholds, the tactical decisions they made, and the increasing scale of Viking attacks. It also highlights the experiences of civilians during the Viking invasion and the unity and stability of Wessex in facing the Viking fleet.
