Working class culture is not one that usually prepares you for answering questions. I went to a monastery school where the white kids, the jewish kids, were paying full freight. But there was clearly some sort of scholarship programme to bring in working class black kids into the school because i doubt most of their parents could afford the tuition. And so an outside tester would come in and train us to take standardized tests. She had no idea what the differences between people are or how to make people comfortable. It's about how you use language and the fact that the disembodied, abstract question is not natural to ordinary human interaction. The word 'culture' is now so loaded. Most people now hear
