How to Estimate Well?

There are a number of questions here around estimations. So I'm going to try to tie some of these things together. How do you find out if developers are estimating the story points fairly? And there's also a few questions about just best advice for estimation planning in general, and what do you recommend. Please feel free to add that back into the Q and A as well.
