Sugar is the cheapest, easiest way to do parenting. You can just buy your child's happiness and satisfaction by just giving them candy. It's such a high-time preference thing to do because you're trading their future health for your ease of today. And my son was little before I had figured all this stuff out. He'd like, he'd use the potty, whatever. The rewards were M&M. So that's where I often try to really fight hard with my kids. At least I hope so.
