Pete started having micro-sleeps in the middle of songs, as long nights got to him. But despite Pete's less than stellar playing, they were good enough that Sheridan described them as the best R&B band he'd ever heard. They severed their relationship with Alan Williams, refusing to pay him his share of the money and just cutting him out of their careers. This was also when they started using Proludin, a stimulant related to amphetamines which was prescribed as a diet drug. Paul would take one pillar night, George a couple, and John would gobble them down, but Pete didn't take them.
