LZ Granderson: How important are office politics and then some would say, Oh, I hate politics. LZ: One of the reasons that I got into writing about office politics was in fact my previous career as a press secretary on a governor's race. And it occurred to me over time that there were a lot of parallels between how office politics is conducted and how electoral politics is. He says if we could use election strategies to win campaigns, we could do the same thing to win at office politics. "If you don't have to just opt out of office politics and have things done to you, instead there are ethical proactive ways to think about office politics," he says.
