The Limits of Black Hole Spin

Black holes can only spin so fast before they might tear themselves open. The rules of physics actually say that there's a maximum speed that black holes are allowed to spin before they crack open. But because spinning of an object changes its gravity, it can also affect the size of a black hole and puts a limit on how fast a black hole is allowed to spin.
