Dragon Lance: A Novel Series
The idea was that they were going to do this big narrative, this big epic story. The problem was, initially, they got the novelist, and I've never been able to find out who they got to write this thing. They focused on writing the modules first, and then after the modules were done, Tracy Hickman and Margaret Weiss sat down and wrote the first novel,. Because they fired the other guy. Well, yeah, because no one likes working with a jerk, right? I guess. It's different when everybody's working from home.
