The Holy Spirit's Gift of Wisdom
As human beings, we naturally desire to know first causes. We need at least some wisdom for an integrated intellectual and human life. If you want to be a true catholic intellectual, your experiments must be informed by the natural and revealed moral law. Sometimes as scholars, we can become experts in a particular tree, but in a while, we need to climb up the mountain and take in the whole landscape. And this is the function of wisdom.
