Peter: I don't get much time for reading but over the summer I found a bit more time and so I read over the summer David Axelrod's biography Believer in which he talks about the kind of inside story of Barack Obama's campaign. The Thousand Autumns of Jacob DeZote by David Mitchell is a kind of historical novel set in the Dutch East India Company base of Deshima in southern Japan at the end of the 18th century.
