This is our last major chapter where we get Peter as the primary protagonist, if you want to call it that. In fact, I think that's part of the message here. If you look at the chapter heading, the chapter starts with the martyrdom of James, the brother of John, who's killed by Herod. It's a very sad reality that for the next three, four hundred years, Christians are going to be largely persecuted first amongst the Roman people and then among the Jews.
