The Unfavorable Waiter

There is certainly an ethical edge to Sartre's concept. He does say that the waiter is playing a game with us and a game with himself. The waiter is acting out a role in doing that he's denying that he's free to do otherwise. So to that extent he's like a mechanical robot. Is that what you're saying? Good. Yeah. That puts it very well indeed.
