How to Make Your App More Fun

I think the Spinner is a good example of a design pattern that's cheap and easy. You can just throw it out there without any thought whatsoever. But when I'm sat on a 4G connection or a really good connection, it's so fast that you end up with this kind of flickering flickers. So don't rely on what other people are doing because that can backfire if people actually experience that something is taking longer than usual - even though it isn't. Try and tie it in with your brand, something that makes it more fun. And then people will actually enjoy waiting for a bit.
