The American Dream

Katherine beecher wrote that home making was a divine duty, and that if a housewife did it well, it reflected upon her as an individual servant of god. Beecher's words were a huge source of hope for many women setting up households in newly colonized areas of the united states. The American dream is not a commune full of fellow believers or a big, multi generational family tilling the land together. It is a specific goal of an independent haven, facilitated by a merry band of products.
