Transport Canada's Recommendations Regarding Wheel Well Fires
The aircraft flight manual must be amended to reflect the following. Overheated brakes can cause wheel well fires, that left or right wing overheat warning light may indicate a wheel well fire and other key symptoms associated with an onboard fire. Transport canada should explore means to protect, or otherwise harden, the hydraulic and fuel lines in wheel oils so they don't get damaged by bursting tires or wheel oil fires. I think it was known amongst maintenance people that the different kinds of hydraulic fluid had similar enough properties that you could use them interchangeably. But there's a reason you have to use this specific one in these systems.
