Before you deploy code, deploy empathy. Figure out what you're building, why, who is it for, how are they going to use that? That determines the big picture, but also a lot of little decisions you might make on a daily basis as a software developer. And I think that that's probably what makes senior developers, senior developers, look a little bit further than just the code and actually try to solve the real problem.
