I wouldn't be opposed to some sort of small date. It gets too complicated because I get to do every episode and try to explain like this was 235 days after the Battle of Yavin. 65 days before we found out the Empire was starting Death Star 2. So yes, it's kind of keep slotting more stuff in. They don't want to box themselves in.
