The Role of Size in the Success of a Media Entity

We're culture journalists first and foremost, though we've done investigative reporting. And another issue there is that on the surface doing something like album reviews or artist profiles for the most part, it's a fairly tame kind of writing. But then that stuff ends up like in the current information environment, that stuff doesn't move the needle as much. A lot of companies are just like phasing out that content entirely noisy. So I'm kind of wondering what exactly does the role of size play with like the successor failure of a media entity? Is there a point at which it gets too big? Do you need to be a certain level of big?
