In 2002, Mattel introduced a line of pregnant midge dolls. But it was also quickly pulled because there were complaints that she promoted teen pregnancy. The biggest controversy with Barbie has been about her body size. She would lack the 17 to 22% body fat required for a woman to even menstruate. It's so much pressure. Like you're giving your kid. And this is also before we're in the nineties. I think toys probably had a heavier weight emotionally and psychologically than maybe we even think now.
