The Importance of Quality Management in the NHS
The Treasury as it says did turn on the taps for good capital investment across the NHS much far more than the less than half OECD average that we're getting at the moment. Big multinationals have high productivity part because they invest a lot more in technology and there's a long tail of companies that have small amounts of capital investment and have low productivity. But another factor is not just the technology but actually the quality of management which I think Van Rienen said was actually a more active ingredient.
