The God Delusion of Kurt Wise
The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins is about a Harvard educated paleontologist named Kurt Wise. He grew up in a fundamentalist Christian home where he was taught that because the Bible's creation account should be read literally, the earth is less than 10,000 years old. When Wise realized that he could not become a professor at a major research university without abandoning this way of reading scripture, he made a very painful choice. The wound to his career and his life's happiness was self-inflicted, so unnecessary, so easy to escape.
